Defuzzification

Introduction:-For a system whose output is fuzzy, it is easier to take a crisp decision if the output is represented as a single quantity. This conversion of a single crisp value is called Defuzzification.It is the reverse process of fuzzification.

The typical Defuzzification methods are

− Centroid method,

− Center of sums,

− Mean of maxima

Centroid method

It is also known as the "center of gravity" of area method. It obtains the Centre of area (x*) occupied by the fuzzy set .For discrete membership function, it is given by

xi are the elements, and

μ(xi) is the membership function.
